I started working on it this past week, and I have a feeling it's going to take me a few weeks to complete this project so I'll be posting pictures as I go.

Before; the walls leading up to the third floor are wallpapered in "faux brick" and "psychedelic 60s." Hilarious! I mean, I always wonder what people are thinking when they choose these patterns!

Before; the other side just has the "faux brick" wallpaper.

Before; the stairs are very worn in and need a new coat of paint.

Before; The door to the bathroom is at the top of the stairs. The "psychedelic 60s" wallpaper is also on the walls next to the bathroom. I tried to peel as much off as possible, but after being up there for 40+ years, some of it just doesn't want to come down! I've decided to sand, prime, and then paint over it.

Before; there are two rooms in the attic. The room to the left is the largest and most open. My plan is to take down the window treatments, paint all the walls and then the floor to give this room a complete makeover!

Before; the room is messier than before with all the paint and tools I've brought up!

Before; there is "built in" shelving that I plan to use to store all my decorating magazines and fabric.

Before; the shelves have gotten their first coat of paint.

Before; the window treatments have been taken down (and it took some serious elbow grease!) and the holes repaired. I'm waiting for the spackle to dry so I can put up new shades.

Before; this is the second room in the attic. It's much smaller and will continue to be used as a storage space. This is where our air handler is (you can see it in the bottom right hand corner), and it also has lovely avocado green carpet!
yay! i'm so excited about a new post and your new adventure. can't wait to see the after!
