Yard Work

We had six cubic yards of mulch delivered to our house last week. It took us all day to spread it in the front yard, side yards, and backyard, but we think it was worth it!

Hostas, impatiens, and some sort of Japanese spreading plant.

Our grass is a little patchy-- blame it on Shiloh who rolls and goes to the bathroom in it!

Hydrangea, hostas, tulips and daffodils

This is the area on the right side of our backyard that meets with the alley behind our property.

Color in the Breakfast Nook

Daniel and I recently had a conversation about our "dream" kitchen: one that has lots of storage, new appliances and room to entertain. Realizing that we'll probably be waiting a year or two more before we make any dramatic changes, I thought there was at least one thing I could do in the meantime. In order to make the kitchen area look bigger, I painted the breakfast nook the same color, Benjamin Moore's Yarmouth Blue, hoping that this will make the two spaces look more like one and allow these areas to flow more easily into one another. So, here are the finished walls!
